Killdeer Mountain Manufacturing clinches Boeing's Outstanding Performance award

Aug. 30—DICKINSON — In a clear endorsement of its expertise in aerospace, Killdeer Mountain Manufacturing (KMM) in Dickinson has secured a spot as one of The Boeing Company's top suppliers for 2023.

The spotlight shone brightly on KMM at the esteemed Boeing Supplier of the Year event in Orlando, Florida, where the company was proudly bestowed with the Outstanding Performance for Boeing Commercial Airplanes award.

"This award speaks volumes about the heartland communities that have supported us," Kristin Hedger, KMM's Senior Vice President of Business Development, said. "North Dakota and Texas both understand our workforce and small-community values. This outstanding recognition demonstrates again that the KMM family, with three generations of leadership, continues to shine amidst the elite in the global aerospace arena. Our true grit and happy spirit while taking on challenges shines through."

Erika Bauer, KMM's president of operations, shared her profound gratitude for the Supplier of the Year Award. She extended appreciation to KMM's dedicated workforce and emphasized the company's commitment to excellence and quality processes.

"We extend our gratitude and congratulations to our KMM teammates for their relentless focus on excellence, enhanced readiness, and quality processes that make us a strong, reliable supplier for our customer," Bauer said.

KMM, rooted in the heart of southwest North Dakota, serves as a critical supplier of components that fuel the aerospace industry's progress. The company's expertise spans copper wire harnesses, fiber optic marvels and essential electrical assemblies. These components, likened to an aircraft's nervous system, play an indispensable role in transmitting vital signals and power throughout the aircraft's framework.

With strategically positioned manufacturing facilities in Dickinson and Killdeer, North Dakota, as well as Kerrville, Texas, KMM stands poised to adeptly cater to the aerospace industry's growing demands and increasingly high safety standards.

The partnership between Killdeer Mountain Manufacturing and Boeing extends its influence over both commercial and defense programs. KMM's contributions extend to pivotal projects such as the 737 and 777 commercial aircraft, as well as military based platforms such as the P-8 naval reconnaissance plane, the F-15 combat fighter, the E-7 surveillance and communications plane, and other vital platforms that serve national and global aviation needs.

William Ampofo, Vice President of Parts & Distribution Services and Supply Chain for Boeing Global Services and Chair of Boeing's Supply Chain Operations Council, commended the Supplier of the Year winners for their proactive, transparent and reliable contributions, especially in the face of challenges.

"Over the past year, their collaboration and commitment to safety and quality was the gold standard to help us drive stability in our supply chain and consistently deliver for our customers," Ampofo remarked.

Beyond the accolades, Killdeer Mountain Manufacturing's recognition shines a spotlight on North Dakota's growing presence in the aerospace industry. As the company's influence extends across state lines, it is evident that local values and a commitment to excellence are propelling North Dakota's aerospace sector to new heights.
